A Poem Inspired by Jonathan Gullible

By Sanyu Shine Agaba

This is a heartfelt acknowledgement to Mr John Mugabi for his dedication and support as the publisher of The Adventures of Jonathan Gullible in Uganda and for his commitment to promoting the principles of freedom, self-reliance, and economic insight. Thank you, Mr Mugabi for making this journey possible and for championing the vision of a freer and more empowered society. The Adventures of Jonathan Gullible is a free market odyssey with themes of self-discovery, freedom and the quest for economic truth.

THE ODYSSEY OF JONATHAN GULLIBLE

In Jonathan’s steps, we find our own through lands where liberty’s seeds are sown.

He questions chains, both seen and slay, and seeks a path where freedom lies.

In defiance lands, with skies cast gray, Young Jonathan wondered for a way where laws weighed down on freedom’s song and right was blurred by power’s throng.

Through market towns and guarded gates, He saw the poor man’s burdened fates, as hands unseen yet tightened blind to sway the hearts and dull the mind.

“Why must I live by rules so strange? What do they fear in open change?” He pondered laws that bound his hands in every foreign land.

For those who rule, their greed’s disguise is painted as truth, seen by the wise, who dare to push beyond the lies and fight where justice often dies.

And also with courage riding fierce, he vowed to break through lies that pierce, to shed the chain in thought and hand and live free in any land.

For Jonathan learned, as we should see that freedom’s path will not come free but in each heart that seeks to know a spark of freedom starts to grow.

So, heed his tale and question deep, where powers rise and freedom sleep. For Jonathan’s journey, told a new us one for all who dare pursue.

Through his “Odyssey“, Jonathan’s tale calls each reader to challenge systems of control and strive for a life rooted in freedom and self-respect.
